Privacy policy
Last updated 25 September 2026. This policy covers the ACADEMe app (package com.academe.flutter) and academe.cc.
The short version. We collect what we need to run your account and help you study: your name, email, class, board, language, your study progress, your folders and notes, and your chats with Pebby. We send your questions and homework photos to Sarvam AI in India so Pebby can answer. We don't store your photos. We don't show ads, we don't use the advertising ID, we don't track your location and we never sell your data. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
ACADEMe is run by [[FILL: legal name of the developer or company]], [[FILL: registered address, India]] ("we", "us"). We decide how your personal data is used, so under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary. Write to us at support@academe.cc. 2. Students under 18
ACADEMe is made for school students in Class 6 to 12, so most of our users are between about 11 and 18. If you are under 18, please use ACADEMe with your parent's or guardian's knowledge, and ask them to read this policy with you. Parents and guardians can use every right in section 8 on their child's behalf, including asking us to delete the account, by writing to support@academe.cc.
We don't show ads to anyone, we don't build advertising profiles and we don't track anyone across other apps or websites. We use study progress only to run the app for the student: to resume lessons, plan revision and show XP.
3. What we collect and why

What we don't collect
No location, contacts, microphone recordings, calendar, SMS or call logs. No advertising ID and no device identifiers such as IMEI or MAC address. No analytics or advertising SDKs. We don't use your data to train AI models.
Kept only on your phone
Your login session is kept in the phone's secure storage. Your appearance setting, reminder and study-goal settings and which tips you've seen are kept on the phone. Study reminders are scheduled on the phone itself; we don't run a push notification server.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data and we don't share it for advertising. We use a few service providers who process data only on our instructions to run ACADEMe:

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, for example to answer a valid order from a court or government authority.
5. AI answers
Pebby's answers, marks and lessons made from notes are generated by AI. They can be wrong. Check important answers with your textbook or teacher. If an answer is wrong, harmful or offensive, tap Report under it; we review reports and use them to improve our safety filters.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account data is kept while you have an account.
- When you delete your account, you are logged out at once and everything linked to it (profile, progress, folders, notes, chats, scans, reports and subscription records on our server) is erased 30 days later. Logging in again within the 30 days cancels the deletion.
- Scan photos are not stored by us. Sarvam AI keeps the files of a reading job only as long as its own terms allow [[FILL: confirm Sarvam retention]].
- Deletion requests made through the web form and technical logs are kept for up to one year for security and legal reasons.
- Google and RevenueCat keep purchase records as their own policies and payment laws require.
7. How we protect it
All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as argon2id hashes. Access tokens expire after 15 minutes. Only the people who run ACADEMe can access the database. If a personal data breach happens, we will tell affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You (or your parent or guardian) can:
- See and correct your data: your name, class, board and language can be changed in the app under Me. For a copy of your data, email us.
- Delete your account and data: Me > Account > Delete my account, or use academe.cc/delete-account.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. Some features can't work without the data they need.
- Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you can't.
- Complain to our Grievance Officer (see support). We reply within 90 days at most, and usually much sooner. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change applies. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
